The tradition of decorating baked goods with patterns dates back to the 14th century. The progenitor are Springerle cookies, originating in Germany, produced using a special recipe and beautiful deeply carved rollers and molds, originally made of pear wood or wild cherry wood. Many of them are real works of art! Molds for Springerle have their own museum. Traditional German Christmas cookies baked for centuries. Known for their beautiful embossed designs, even miniature carvings embossed in snow-white dough. Wooden forms, from which springers are made, depict scenes from everyday life, from the Bible, Christian or holiday symbols. Our rollers are a modern interpretation of traditional springerle cookies.
